This term at the moment the theme is going to be all about edges any edge the edge of a cube, edge of a ...circle (I think) I could take a picture that has no edge but still has a shape (so no clear sky's or voids) could use a mirror or a building. the limits the websites data limit (if it has one)
EDGES
School Edges
we had to make some pictures related to edges with a mirror. Then I tried to stock up images that had a edges. we had a blast at it but I need time to reflect upon the work.

Here are my photos my favourite is the camera one my partner was busy with something else so I decided to do this with the mirror. But overall I believe the photos were good because they were carefully thought out (even if slightly) and have been done what would have been even better if it was closer to the theme of edges.

WWW
(what went well) In overall judgement, I think the papers shape was good, and the shadows played with were great. EBI (even better if) I think that if I went to areas with different light I could achieve photos that look great |
photoshop attempt
Here i tried to use photoshop to make images have images inside the circle they had (kind of like cutting a image in a circle the adding another image underneath)
Sick of red
here we had to make notes of the similarities and differences between two pictures "Sick of goodbyes" and "Red #1"
The first photo by Robert Frank has a very good sense of contrast as you can feel the emotions. The feeling you get from it is very ominous and uneasy, the shadows also show a very devastating effect and in the top part of the photo the doll gives the mosts and uneasiness towards people who look at it. The second photo by Lorenzo Vitturi the photo itself seems very happy it has a good contrast it also has a great sense that it's a summer fun time, a vacation area or a free day. The main content of the photo could be that of an ice cream if you draw around it, it forms that of an ice cream.
The main differences are that "sick of goodbyes" is meant to be more dark and "red #1" is very light. And the first one seems depressing while the other is a happy person, they both show emotions of someones life probably to different people reflected in their work. As one is bright and colourful (Bit of an over exaggeration since its mostly red, blue and brown but its more then black and white.) while the other is sad, dark and black and white.

I am interested in Randy Grskovic and Jelle martens work because of how it is arranged as you can develop lots of images by switching the image shapes switch it with the shape of a circle and place it on a face it makes it interesting to look at and quite enjoyable to do it as well.
Assesment
We had to select a few images and get a camera then take pictures of the images and so I chose the bird and the blue and black image and went inside or outside to take photos of them while relating to edges.
We had the choice to use a backdrop, and did, we even gave it to people and took photos of them eventually we had to give it to another group (but we broke it by accident into two parts one big one small.) so we took a piece and took a photo of a bench and threw it onto a pole to make it seem like a flag which took about 20 minutes to do but when we did it we like how it came as a square in a straight pole because it seemed edgier (not in personality more like what it looked in the photo like square + triangle + line)

Expedition
In the exhibition i only chose four, while I didn't want to have too little I would hate to have many as it just forces the person to look at it for long and point out a lot of flaws in it but if there's a few it's nice to take a glance and take focus on the photos displayed at it and focus on a little more positive look. how i made it is that i took the photos on a nice ,sunny morning and took photos of sharp objects then edited the photo to give the colours a uniqueness as i decided to have a subtheme of "colours" one photo is a result from a green fence the diamond shape is of a shiny flooring and the leaves were found randomly. i placed it inside a small storage area that had white pillows which was perfect for a coloured theme of it. the shape i put it was actually from a shape I could see.
Final outcome
I have chosen 3 of my edges photos so one was of a middle view and the others were top and bottom of views but i chose this on a edges perspective because if you think about it you always look either up or down or on the middle of areas photos with meanings behind it are always my favourites and I like to attempt to do it. this one to me is ok but most of my photos are ok I could have done it a bit more exciting or innovative or better approached or more thoughtful to edges in all however i did pick these though a thought pattern that made sense in a edges perspective as you see more edges from up to down and it had a sub-theme of a looking down and up feeling.
www. i think i have portrayed my subtheme well and have tried to make it as interesting to see instead of trying a strict "only edges" feel as i tried opening up.
EBI. i could have been more tighter on making a edges feel and have more photos and different types such as photograms and make it a lot more neater.
